When I first started on this flower journey, it was just my twin sister and I. We were young, naïve, and looking for a creative outlet from our day jobs.
The name LINNAEA came from Linnaea Borealis, or as it is more commonly known: the twinflower.
Meet Lisa
I’m a cool weather loving, introverted millennial that loves traveling abroad as much as hibernating at home. I appreciate a good botanical G+T, will always choose the eggs benny, and dream of the day my husband and I can retire to a cottage in the Scottish Highlands.
It’s just us and my senior soul dog, Kaiya, whom has been my constant companion since before LINNAEA was even a dream in my mind. She is the light of our lives, the biggest pain in the buns, and we love her dearly (dog parents know).
I started LINNAEA in 2010 with my twin sister to create beautiful things for the happiest of days, and then The Elopement Co in 2016 to do that on an even smaller scale with my closest and most creative friends in tow.
I love the creative aspect of event floral design, but my type A personality lives for organization, engineering, puzzles, and streamlined systems as well.
I value sustainability, locally sourced product, and growing slow. I believe that weddings are for two people in love and their closest humans, and I believe that every wedding should feel a little bit like magic.

The Story of LINNAEA |
When LINNAEA was first created in late 2009, it was just me and my twin sister, Erin. She had a couple years of traditional flower shop experience under her belt, and we were at the age that a lot of our friends were planning weddings. It only took a couple of those friends to put their trust in us to give us the boost we needed to start on this floral design journey.
Erin moved out of state after that first year or so, and for several years I was working 12 hour shifts helping care for the sickest of kids the Pediatric ICU 3 days a week, and hustling my fetus of a floral design business the other 4. There was one summer that I worked 11 weeks straight with zero days off. It was emotional whiplash, physically exhausting, and utterly unsustainable.
When I went part time it was a leap of faith, and about a year later I was able to leave my job in the PICU entirely.
So here I am, 15+ years down the road from those first events, having made so so many mistakes, but learned so much along the way. I’ve ultimately built a business that sustains my lifestyle, and allows me the freedom and flexibility to live a life I love. I appreciate every single couple and event creative that puts their trust in me for these most special of days.
